Barnard 228 or Dark Wolf Nebula, or Lupus 1

Barnard 228, also known as the Dark Wolf Nebula or Lupus 1, is a prominent dark nebula located in the constellation Lupus. It's a star-forming region within the Lupus Molecular Cloud, approximately 500 light-years away from Earth. The nebula is characterized by dense, dark clouds of gas and dust that obscure the light from stars behind it.

Distance to the object- 500 light years, covers about 8 square degrees over night sky as a part of larger structure.

Equipment

Mount-Paramount MX+; Scope- Takahashi FSQ-106ED, 106 mm aperture, 382mm focal length; Camera- QHY600 M Pro, 1.46 arcsec/pixel.
