NGC 2359 Thor’s Helmet Nebula,

DescriptionThor’s Helmet (also known as NGC 2359) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Canis Major. The central star of the nebula is the Wolf-Rayet star WR7, an extremely hot star that is believed to be in a short-lived pre-supernova stage of evolution. Thor’s Helmet bears similarities to the Bubble Nebula; however, interactions with a nearby large molecular cloud are thought to have contributed to its more complex shape and distinctive curved bow-shock structure.
