Description | The Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33 or B33, is a small dark nebula located in the constellation Orion. It is situated just south of Alnitak, the easternmost star of Orion’s Belt, and is part of the larger Orion molecular cloud complex. The nebula is located in the southern part of the dense dust cloud Lynds 1630, which is situated on the outskirts of the larger and more active star-forming H2 region known as IC 434. |
