The Ghost Nebula, designated Sh2-136 and VdB 141, is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus. It is situated near the cluster NGC 7023. From the adjacent image, the origin of the nebula’s name becomes clear. The Ghost Nebula is classified as a globule (catalogued as CB230) and spans over 2 light-years across. Several stars are embedded within, and their reflected light gives the nebula a yellowish-brown color. |
